Wow. We joined the search for the Cure because we were inspired by the story of Jasmina Ristic, a Chicago woman struggling with cancer whose cat, Spodee, intuitively knew she needed extra love and support. In celebration of the loving support our cats provide, we donated $175,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. We asked for your help, and pledged to donate an additional $1 (up to $50,000) for every person who took a few minutes to learn some important facts about breast cancer. We have been amazed, touched and overwhelmed by the response!
In just a few weeks 50,000 people participated in the program, helping us reach our goal of a $225,000 donation. Since then over 100,000 more have visited the site and shown their support for this cause. We've been touched by those who have sent us stories of how their furry companions have provided comfort and support during difficult times. We're honored to have worked with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and look forward to a continued partnership in 2009. May we all continue our efforts to bless the lives of those affected by breast cancer, and continue to support the search for a cure.
